Encouraging Your Kids to Read

Every parent wants the very best for their child. For many children this begins with success in school. One of the best ways for children to become successful is to have good reading skills. Another way to help kids learn to read is by using books that include small pictures above the words. This can give your child a sense of success in reading. Many of these books are based on popular character that kids love. It is also fun to use picture books without words and allow your child to make up their own story. These books allow children to have fun with reading because there is no pressure to come up with the right word. There is really no wrong way for your child to read these stores but they begin to develop a sense of a beginning, middle, and end to the stories that they tell.

It is important for parents to encourage reading skills in their children whether they are having problems or not. Make frequent trips to the library at let your child pick out their own books. While at your library see if they have programs to help students learn to read. It is also a good idea to look at software programs designed to help children learn to read.
